Neo Gen Screening Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure

Definition

Neo Gen Screening defines "Year 2000 Ready" as the ability of our software products to accurately process date data from, into, and beyond the years 1999 and 2000, including leap year calculations. All hardware and software will meet Neo Gens standard of compliance.

Background

The Year 2000 (Y2K) problem refers to computers misinterpreting the "00" in the year 2000 as 1900. Most programs recognize what year it is by the last two digits in the year number. We have been performing tests on our computer hardware and software and evaluating the results. After all of the changes have been made to our products to bring them into Year 2000 compliance, the process of monitoring our systems will continue well beyond January 1, 2000 to ensure that such as February 29, 2000, the first leap year of the new century, work correctly.

Approach

With the Year 2000 quickly approaching and the challenges it poses for business information systems and equipment, we want to assure all our customers and suppliers that it is a matter Neo Gen Screening is taking very seriously.

Neo Gen Screening will be doing its Y2K testing in two stages to become year 2000 ready for all of our systems by the close of 1999. The first stage is to gather information from all computers and equipment with a microprocessor. This information includes but is not limited to hardware and software packages that are currently running on the machine. The second stage will be to obtain the appropriate hardware and/or software from the vendors in order to achieve Year 2000 compliance. Also, if necessary, replace or upgrade all non-compliant vendor software, hardware, or equipment.

In addition, we will contact existing suppliers and customers to request compliance status of their computer systems and interfaces in an effort to ensure that there will be no impact on goods and services to Neo Gen Screening.

Status

The Neo Gen Screening Y2K team has been evaluating the computer systems since the fourth quarter of 1998. We have completed an inventory and impact assessment of all computer systems. The first of two stages has been completed. Currently, we are contacting the various software vendors for any lat minute updates to their software to ensure Y2K Readiness and our team is gathering the appropriate latest updates from the vendors and installing them swiftly. This process should be completed by November 30, 1999.

If you have any questions regarding Neo Gen Screenings Y2K status, please contact us by phone at or by email .

The above outline describes our present readiness strategy only and is subject to change without notice. Please revisit our Web page periodically to receive updated information.
